Guam Liberation From Japanese Occupation July 21 1944.
Hey Guys and Girls I just wanted to write about a little history of Guam during its occupation of Japanese Imperial Forces during World War 2. I am sorry if this doesn't intrest you but this is a very important and significant time in my islands history that always reminds me of the friendship that we share and battles we fight, not only online but in every day life.
It all started for Guam in 1898 when the US won the Spanish-Amercan war and the Treay of Paris was signed. Guam was offically under the U.S. control like Puerto Rico, Cuba, Caroline Islands and Phillipines and became U.S. Territories or Allies.
Fast forward to the start of WW2 for the U.S. when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941. At the same time Japanese forces bombed and took over the island of Guam 12/8/41. My grandma told me a story of planes flying over (which was very very rare at the time) and the islander were watching, then all of a sudden explosions from bombs sent residents fleeing to the surrounding jungles. Shortly there after Japanese forces landed and captured U.S. Marines stationed on island.
Japenese forces where instructed to enlist many locals to work forces to build up island defenses in case of an ememy assault. It was then my Gandfather was ripped from his home like many young men at the time to dig caves and shelters for the enemy. My gandma had 12 kids but only two were born at the time. One boy and one girl.
These were harsh and sad times for my people due to hardships endured under the Japanese regime. Many were beheaded for disobedience or for hiding U.S. forces (locals loved americans).
Fastforward- Due to the U.S. Naval Forces winning battles at sea from Wake Island they made there way to Guam in 1944 for a mass invasion of Guam by U.S. Marines from July 21st to August 1944. It was the chokehold of US Naval forces that limited supplies to Guam intended for Japanese forces. Again the local islanders were enlisted to grow a food source (mainly rice) to feed the enemy. My grandma told me stories of Jap soilders demanding food or get beheaded. It was during this pre-invasion time that my un-met uncle Vicente, first born in the family died of starvation. Just imagine that for a sec. To die by starvation is a long and painful torture inflicted upon the young and old alike. Imagine for a sec. burying your child because a unforgiving, merciless people think of you as not human but as animals.
Fastforward- When the U.S. finally made beach landings and secured a base on the beach, it was then my grandfather escaped from his captures. He immediatley went to the U.S. forces who gave him a rifle and instruced him to lead them to the enemy as did many local boys and men did because they knew exactly where the Japs had bases and bunkers. It did not take long for U.S. forces to caputure and liberate Guam from the evil Japanese Forces.
It was very important for the U.S. to capture Guam. It led to the landings on Iwo Jima, the most famous war pic was taken there. It was also necessary for the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the war for once and for all.
If you got this far then thank you for your intrest. It was this memory that guided me to join the Navy when I was 17 and pay back the U.S. for liberating my island of Guam. So when you wake up in the moring and just feel like you hate life and little things bother you for what ever reason. Just remember that you got where you were thanks to the brave and courageous soilders who fought for the freedom you enjoy.
I never considered myself a hero or brave. The real hero's never made it back home to their families alive. All gave some and some gave all.
Long Live BAK and see you all online.
God Bless Freedom.....

I feel no hate or anamosity towards Japanese people. Times were different for them. They were shifting to an expansion phase due to limited resources in Japan. They were taught extremist ways by order of Emperor Hirohito who was regarded as God himself. One good and best quality of the Japanese people is honor above all else. Anyways, we bombed the shit out of hundreds and thousands of them with the A-bomb. That must have sucked really bad for years to come. The lucky ones died.
